There are many natural, vegetable based oils that can clean and moisturize the skin. Some women swear by coconut oil, olive oil or raspberry leaf oil.
However, one of the most popular oils now is squalane oil.
Squalane oil for visibly smoother skin
Squalane has long been popular as a natural moisturizer, and tends to work well for those who can’t tolerate products with perfumes or additives. This light, versatile oil removes make up gently and thoroughly, leaving skin fresh and silky smooth.
Cleanse, smooth and nourish with squalane oil
However, it is traditionally sourced from shark liver. I tried squalane many years ago and liked the texture, feel and results. Who doesn't love smooth, dewy skin? It had such an amazing texture and it was the ultimate gentle, non irritating make up remover. But I felt uncomfortable knowing it came from an animal source.
Luckily, Biossance offers a 100% plant-based squalane sustainably made from sugarcane. Like all of their products, it is derived in an eco-friendly way.
By the way, one of my pet peeves is buying a full sized item that makes big promises, only to fall flat and leave me with another unused product in my closet.
In case you're on the fence, Biossance offers sample sizes at great prices with free shipping. These are not tiny, one use testers! They typically contain enough product for at least 4-5 uses, so you get a sense of how your skin reacts to the ingredients.
I thoroughly enjoy using these oils, especially the Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil. Both feel wonderful on the skin, and nourish without any heaviness. You only need a small amount of these oils to see results! Just a couple of drops for your face and another drop around eyes leaves even the driest skin feeling smooth and moisturized.
I see a visible difference in hydration when I use this oil daily. I especially notice a difference where I’m dry and crepey under my eyes. It also gives the brows a nice glow and helps keep them in place.
While I admit to being a product junkie, I appreciate a product that can multi-task. This product is a winner for anyone who wants quality, value and ease of use.
Rather than using a make-up primer with many ingredients and possible irritants, I usually just skip primer. But this oil seems to work well as a primer for mineral powder or matte liquid foundations.
100% Squalane Oil is a weightless, multi-purpose oil for your body or hair. It feels amazing on legs after shaving, or on the chest and arms after a day at the beach!
I also like to add a few drops to my hair to smooth and moisturize. A little goes a long way. It doesn’t weigh hair down, and it doesn’t build up the way a silicone based serum can. I’ve tried so many serums and they sometimes improve my hair on day one. However, they often end up weighing it down, for a flat, greasy look.
These products arrived simply but beautifully packaged, and a follow up travel kit order came with additional free samples. Biossance offers a variety of product sets that make thoughtful gifts for your best girlfriends, teenagers or even your spouse.
Just as important, I appreciate the fact that Biossance is EWG verified. This is a safe, effective and affordable line! You can't go wrong with this clean, green, sustainably sourced brand.
